Nutshell retains its position as top provider in April

Nutshell Asset Management has retained its position as top provider, according to Sharing Alpha’s April report.

Holding their places at second and third in the user generated fund ratings and model portfolios platform’s rankings are fellow  providers Lonvia Capital and Value Partners.

Nutshell is a London-based boutique headed by Mark Ellis. It offers clients high conviction global equity strategies while aiming to retain an ethical investment focus.

Paris-based Lonvia Capital focuses on long term value creation, alongside SFDR Article 8 compliance.

Value Partners, based in Hong Kong, offers a diversified asset management portfolio under a value investment approach.

In terms of the top rated funds, Brown Advisory US Sustainable Growth Fund and Allianz Global Artificial Intelligence retained their positions as the top two from March .The Brown Advisory fund seeks to identify durable businesses that possess a combination of fundamental strength, sustainable competitive advantages and compelling valuation.

Around two thirds of its holdings are information technology and health care.Its top ten holdings include  Microsoft, the UnitedHealth Group, Alphabet (parent company of Google), Amazon and NVIDIA.

In the case of Allianz, the fund invests a minimum of 70 percent of assets in the shares of international companies that have at least some operations or relations in the area of "artificial intelligence" (intelligence exhibited by machines).

Its investment objective is to attain long-term capital growth.

The BGF World Technology Fund, which was the third highly rated fund in March, was overtaken in April by the Seilern World Growth Fund.

Seilern can be described as a boutique, with just under $3 billion in assets under management.

Over half of these assets are in the firms’ World Growth Fund which has performed extremely well even during the pandemic, returning over 30 percent in 2019 and in excess of 20 percent in 2020.

SharingAlpha is an investment platform where professionals in the asset management industry such as fund selectors choose products and providers, building up a reputation and a greater weighting for successful choices.

To record its ratings for its reports, SharingAlpha utilises three parameters on which the overall rating is determined:

People - the experience and competitive edge of the fund manager and their team.

Price - the cost of the fund.

Portfolio - the way the strategy is run in terms of risk management.

The investment platform then calculates the average ratings assigned by its users to each fund, providing a score out of five. SharingAlpha only includes ratings from users that are identified as professional fund buyers.

Consequently, the results do not include ratings coming from users that are, non-financial industry members or fund providers.
