Alison Rose named RBS chief executive, becoming first woman to lead major UK bank

Alison Rose has been appointed as chief executive of the Royal Bank of Scotland, becoming the first woman to lead a major British bank.

Her appointment was long-anticipated, with thewealthnet reporting she was primed to take the top job in November 2018.

Ms Rose, currently head of RBS's commercial and private banking business, will take up her new role on 1 November 2019, replacing New Zealand-born banker Ross McEwan, who is set to return to the Southern Hemisphere to become chief executive ...
