Bank of England to purchase long-dated UK Government bonds

The Bank of England will carry out temporary purchases of long-dated UK government bonds from 28 September, it announced today (28/09/22).

The move follows BoE governor Andrew Bailey’s announcement made on Monday that the bank would be “monitoring developments in financial markets very closely in light of the significant repricing of UK and global financial assets.”
