Boris Johnson’s Conservatives have won an emphatic victory in the UK General Election, taking 363 seats in the House of Commons and securing the majority the defending Prime Minister so desperately desired. The party won 43.6 percent of the total vote - 648 of 650 seats had been counted at deadline.
Nearest rival Labour won 203 seats, the party’s worst result since 1935. It took 32.2 percent of the overall vote.
The wealth management sector was quick to weigh in on the result during the course of the night.
