Brown Shipley names new chairman as Tapner moves up

Brown Shipley chairman Rory Tapner has been made chair of the UK private bank’s European parent, with his successor also revealed today.

Mr Tapner, a former Coutts chief executive who had occupied Brown Shipley’s top board seat since mid-2019, becomes the chairman of its owner Quintet Private Bank, as tipped by thewealthnet yesterday.

Mr Tapner replaces Jan Maarten de Jong, who served as a member of the Quintet board for three decades, including as its chairman since 2015.<...
