Client onboarding a 'necessary evil'

“The number one pain point for clients is onboarding. It’s a necessary evil,” claimed Ed White, managing director and global head of wealth, insurance and private bank operations at HSBC.

Speaking as part of a panel discussion at Connect Global Group’s Automation and Innovation in Wealth Management conference yesterday (07/11/19), Mr White argued that client onboarding should not be seen as a process, rather as part of the overall experience.

“Tech has a huge role to play” in improving the experience, he added.
