More than one in 10 people who had retired have gone back to work with a combination of the cost-of-living crisis and a desire for a new challenge the main reasons for returning, according to research from Investec Wealth & Investment.

The study found 11 percent of people who had stopped working have recently returned to employment and another four percent say they are planning to go back.
