Could the online safety bill weaken fraud protection?

The joint committee on the draft online safety bill has recommended major changes to the bill to prevent it weakening fraud protection.

The committee called for online protection to be beefed up across the board and made specific recommendations to tackle online fraud.

A key recommendation is that Ofcom should set the standards by which big tech will be held accountable. Their powers to investigate, audit and fine the companies should be increased.
