Crispin Odey acquitted in sexual assault case

Hedge fund boss Crispin Odey has been acquitted of indecent assault, after being accused of groping a young woman in the late 1990s.

He appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court yesterday (11 March), accused of “launching” himself at a young woman at his home in 1998. The woman was 27 at the time, worked in the banking sector, and is approximately 13 years younger than the Odey Asset Management founder.

Judge Nicholas Rimmer acquitted Mr Odey, saying his accuser’s evidence was “littered with troubling inconsistencies” and that “she’s at the very least an unreliable historian”, various media outlets have ...
