Jacob Rees-Mogg, that aristocratic though antediluvian parliamentarian often described as the MP for the 17th century, is in line for a nice little earner, namely £1 million after positive results from his Somerset Capital Management group.

He will no doubt deposit the cheque with Coutts & Co, a bank with which he has friendly links.

Jacob, a Brexiteer who considers the EU one of the deadly sins, is a member of the Boris Johnson cabinet, in the role of leader of the House of Commons.
