Virtually every new hiring or appointment these days seems to involve a girl or chap who has worked for Coutts & Co, private bankers to Her Majesty the Queen and a thing of joy to headhunters everywhere.

The diaspora of staff from Coutts has been awesome, making one wonder if a Trumponian border wall needs to be erected around 440 Strand.

Of course, some seek to associate the speed of migration with the silver tongue of Michael Morley, the former CEO who departed for Deutsche. When Michael left, talk was that he was laying siege to the Coutts HR department to get the go-ahead to recruit former colleagues to join him...
