Remember that much-loved movie, The Italian job, where Michael Caine leads a gang hijacking a consignment of Chinese gold bullion in the centre of Turin, aided by a fleet of speedy Mini Coopers?

Some of the best lines from the film have gone into the language, i.e. “You’re only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!”

The theme song, "The Self-Preservation Society", remains very hum-able to this day, after being penned just at the end of the swinging 60s.

And what an ending to this 1969 comedy caper: The charabanc carrying the gang home misses a curve in the Alps and is left perched, one end over an abyss...
