Expat right to vote could have serious tax liabilities – advisory firm warns

More British expats will be given the right to vote in UK elections under government plans. However, tax and advisory firm Blick Rothenberg have warned that this may come with a “tax sting in the tail”.

In the Spring Budget, the government confirmed that British expats living overseas and non-resident in the UK for tax purposes would be entitled to vote in British elections in future on an “indefinite basis”.
