FCA data reveals five percent drop in complaints

Complaints against FCA regulated firms fell by five percent from 4.13 million to 3.91 million in the second half of 2018.

In total, 3,181 firms reported receiving at least one complaint during this period, with 231 of these firms reporting 500 or more. These firms accounted for almost 98 percent of all reported complaints.

Focusing on wealth management firms, Hargreaves Lansdown Asset Management received the most of those reported at 2073 complaints of which 58.1 percent were upheld. Coutts & Co followed, receiving a total of 1592 complaints of which 54.2 percent were upheld.
