FCA promises early 2020 consultation on platform exit fees

The Financial Conduct Authority has promised it will consult regarding investment platform exit fees next year.

In a policy statement released today, the regulator said a consultation would take place in the first three months of the year, following concerns raised by consumers and industry participants in its Investment Platform Market Study.

However the FCA did announce today (13 December) a new package of rules for platforms, requiring them to offer consumers the choice to transfer units in investment funds that are common to both providers when switching.
