Former pro rugby player becomes 500th graduate of SJP Academy

The 500th graduate of the St James’s Place (SJP) Academy has successfully completed his in-house training programme, part of the latest cohort of 61 graduates.

Michael Allen, an ex-professional rugby player who spent eight years playing in first the Guinness Pro12 league for Ulster and then for Edinburgh, was the 500th graduate.

Following uncertainty regarding a contract extension, at 26 years old he had to consider changing careers. He chose financial planning mainly due to the longevity and flexibility a career he saw wealth management as offering.
