FSCS significantly reduces levy

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has almost halved its levy forecast for 2023/24.

In its latest report, it has announced the annual levy for 2023/24 is now £270 million.

This is £208 million lower than the £478 million forecast in November 2022.

This is also a significant decrease from the final 2022/23 levy which was £625 million.

Despite this, the FSCS expects to pay £471 million in compensation.
