While discussions around Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have largely disappeared from the headlines, research by the UK regulator has found a large spike in the number of people who have bought such assets.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) said it estimated 2.6 million UK residents had bought cryptoassets “at some point”, a 1.1 million increase compared to estimates from a similar survey in 2019.
