Investment legend calls it a day

Bill Gross, who dominated the fixed income investment market for more than 40 years, is to retire.

Mr Gross, who now works for Janus Henderson, where he manages the $950 million Janus Henderson Global Unconstrained Bond Fund, will leave the firm on 1 March to manage his charitable foundations and personal wealth the firm said in a press release.

The founder, managing director and chief investment officer of Newport Beach California-based Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) helped grow the firm, now a subsidiary of Munich-based Allianz, to the point at which it managed over $1 trillion of assets.
