The Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) has appointed its first board apprentice.
Catherine Watson, who is the chief internal auditor of the States of Jersey and a Chartered accountant, will join the JFSC for a year’s placement, effective 1 April 2021.
During this time, she will sit in on commission board meetings, receive mentoring and gain real-life board experience.
This is the first time an apprentice has been able to observe the board of a regulator anywhere in the world, the JFSC stated.
The JFSC signed up to be part of the I WILL programme, which is run by the Government of Jersey.
