Number of very wealthy individuals increases as asset prices surge – Knight Frank

The global ultra high net worth (UHNW) population increased by 2.4 percent in the past 12 months to over 520,000.

This is according to Knight Frank’s 2021 Wealth Report, which defines an UHNW as someone with a net worth of over $30 million including their primary residence.

The growth was due to a surge in asset prices and was most prominent in Asia, which saw a 12 percent increase.

However, the number of UHNWs in Latin America (-14 percent), Russia (-21 percent) and the Middle East (-10 percent) fell.
