The number of stately homes in the UK is growing, as owners of historic buildings capitalise on the Covid-induced domestic holiday boom.
The number if stately homes now sits at 670, up 22 percent from the 550 open in 2009, according to analysis from law firm Boodle Hatfield.
When opened to the public, stately homes are eligible for exemptions to inheritance tax and capital gains tax when they pass on to a new owner either as a gift or in a will after death.
