Private banking veteran takes over as new CEO at scandal-hit bank

Danske Bank, which has been mired in a huge money laundering scandal, has chosen a man with extensive private banking experience as its new chief executive.

Chris Vogelzang, a Dutchman from ABN AMRO, becomes the Danish bank’s new head.

Between 2000 to 2017, he held several positions at ABN AMRO – the last eight years as a member of the bank’s management board and head of its global retail and private banking activities. He also has been chief executive of global private banking at the Dutch bank.
