Rathbones hints at recruitment push as profits rise

Rathbones has delivered a strong first half result, indicating it plans to up hiring and investment into the business in the second half of the year.

The investment manager posted a pre-tax profit of £48.8 million in the first six months of 2021, compared with £23.7 million for the same period in 2020.

Operating income totalled £213.5 million in the first half of 2021, 19.3 percent ahead of the prior year (30 June 2020: £179.0 million), as the firm benefited from higher assets under management via both organic growth and rising markets.
