St James's Place: Are SJP’s fees, performance really as eye-wateringly bad as its rivals claim?

St James’s Place, the UK’s largest restricted advice firm, continues to be characterised by high charges and poor performance.

So claims portfolio analysis specialist Yodelar, criticisms echoed by many of SJP’s investment house rivals.

Less than two percent of SJP’s funds have maintained top performance over the past one, three and five years, Yodelar asserts, in a new report.

No less than 79 percent of its unit trust funds performed worse than half of their same sector peers during the last five years.

So more than 70 percent of client money under management is held in under-performing funds...
