St James’s Place (SJP) has joined the Equity Release Council, the body which looks to promote best practice and consumer protection around such products.
In the past two years, the council’s individual membership has increased by 50 percent to over 1,500.
Meanwhile, the number of firms signed up has almost doubled during this period to pass 600.
Equity release advice has formed part of the SJP proposition for more than 15 years.
