Swiss regulator’s CEO steps down

Swiss regulator FINMA’s chief executive Mark Branson is stepping done to become president of the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority BaFin in Germany from mid-2021.

He has worked at FINMA since 2010, initially as head of banking supervision, becoming deputy chief executive in 2013 and chief executive 2014.

Jan Blöchliger, the supervisor of FINMA’s banks division, will take over the operational leadership of FINMA from 1 May 2021 until further notice.
