Wealth managers rarely feature in the highest echelons of rich list rankings. But when it comes to philanthropy they appear to have a much bigger profile, at least in the UK.

Both Jonathan Ruffer and John Stone, founders of two two firms that thewealthnet covers on a regular basis, feature in the Top 10 of the The Sunday Times Giving List, a component of The Sunday Times Rich List.

Here rankings are based on the proportion of a constituent’s total wealth given to charity.
