The collective wisdom of the market, as defined by the 400 or so members of the London International Vintners Exchange (Liv-Ex), can sometimes get it right when it comes to forecasting prices.
Back in April Liv-Ex, which claims to be the world’s biggest fine wine trading platform, challenged it members to predict Bordeaux 2018 release prices for a basket of wines.
These predicted that the basket of wines would cost EUR 2,156.98. The reality is that the basket cost EUR 2,178.40 just 0.99 percent higher.
