The latest UK GDP figures revealed a 0.6 percent fall in June, lower than the forecasted 1.2 percent drop.
Last month's reading revealed growth of 0.5 percent.
A total contraction of 0.1 percent for the second quarter also came in lower than the predicted -0.2 percent.
