UK narrowly avoids a recession, for now...

With growth flat (0.0 percent) in Q4 2022, the UK has narrowly avoided a recession, for now.

According to the latest GDP data, the UK economy shrank by 0.5 percent in December, but this was not enough to send growth negative.

A recession may have been avoided for now but the Bank of England predicted the UK will still face a recession this year. However, this will likely be shorter and shallower than previously predicted.
