The UK has slipped to joint-eighth in a table of the world’s most powerful passports, sharing it’s position with Belgium, Greece, Norway and the USA. Last year it came in at joint sixth.
The Henley Passport Index — which is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) — gives every country a visa-free/visa-on-arrival score out of a maximum 227.
In 2015, the UK was ranked joint-first with Germany, but has dropped down the listings each year since. Japan leads with a score of 191.
