UK tax receipts increase from previous year for first time since lockdown

HMRC’s total tax take hit £47 billion in September 2020, £4 billion more than in September 2019.

This is the first time since February that HMRC’s total tax receipts for a single month increased year-on-year.

Tax and advisory firm Blick Rothenberg said the increase was mainly supported by a £3.3 billion increase in Corporation Tax receipts and increases in PAYE (+£572 million) and NIC (+£731 million) receipts.
