Wealth managers turned politicians - how did they fare?

With the Conservative majority now confirmed following yesterday’s General Election, we took a look at how candidates with backgrounds in private client wealth management have fared.

Firstly, in what was depicted as a potential Liberal Democrat gain in early polls, John Redwood, chief global strategist at Charles Stanley and prominent Euro-sceptic, held onto the Wokingham seat he has occupied since 1987.

Speaking at the PAM Annual Dinner in September, he was very positive about the macro outlook, stating “there will not be a global recession in the next 12 months.”...
