In the UK 62 percent of people have some form of debt, with the most common types of debt being credit cards (35 percent), mortgages (24 percent) and student loans (11 percent, rising to 28 percent among millennials), according to comparison website KnowYourMoney.co.uk.
The website, which commissioned a nationally-representative survey among more than 2,000 UK adults to uncover people’s attitudes towards debt, found that of the people who have some form of debt nearly three in ten (29 percent) do not feel in control of their debt and have no clear plan of how they can pay it off.
