The French Football League (LFP), Professional Clubs Association (UCPF), and Association of Professional Footballers (UNFP) have protested against a new “Supertax”, arguing that it will have a disastrous effect on the competitiveness of French football by driving players to other countries where the tax burden is significantly lower.
One of the elements of French President Francois Hollande\'s Socialist Government\'s 2013 budget was the so-called Supertax - a temporary levy that is introduced on annual earnings in excess of EUR 1 million, plus a new rate of 45 percent on income above EUR 150,000.00.
