UK set to fast-track Economic Crime Bill as pressure on Putin mounts

Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the UK government is set to fast-track legislation to bolster its sanctions against Russian individuals and banks with legislation forcing overseas owners of UK property revealed.

The government’s long delayed Economic Crime Bill will be tabled to parliament today and will see the introduction of a register of overseas entities requiring offshore owners of property in the UK to reveal their true identities.
