Quaero Capital has strengthened its European small cap equity investment team with the hiring of Invesco’s head of small caps Adrian Bignell as a senior portfolio manager.

Based in London, Mr Bignell will bring his expertise in Northern European companies, alongside his 25 years of experience investing in European small and mid-cap companies.

During his time at Invesco, he launched and ran its European opportunities fund. He joined Invesco as head of European small companies in 2003. He later launched and managed the firm’s European opportunities fund, which utilised a high-conviction investment style.

He initially began his investment career at Cazenove Capital in 1994, where he became a partner and vice-head of the European equities team.
