BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP) has boosted automation services with a new insight programme, which offers users of Alexa-enabled technology access to voice-activated market commentary.

Investment Insights was developed as part of BNPP’s wider investment in technology, with the asset manager looking to provide automate its investment processes and client communications.”

It will offer Alexa users multiple services, including:

• The Market Update: a 4-5 minute briefing, available on Monday mornings, giving an outlook for the week and key market trends to look out for.
• The Daily Brief: a 1-2 minute briefing on the day’s most important content.
• The Wrap: a 3-4 minute recap, available on Fridays, covering the most important thought leadership content shared during the week.
• The Data Hub: a live database of market data, such as ETF and stock prices, trading volumes and performance.

The programme is available to users with Alexa-enabled devices, including Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Show, Echo Plus and Fire TV, using the command “Alexa, enable Investment Insights”.

BNPP believes that the new initiative demonstrates how artificial intelligence can enhance conversations with clients and investors, while facilitating data collection to increase its understanding of user engagement.

The launch of Investment Insights follows a year-long collaboration between teams and across regions, and has been developed using US English, which represents over 70 percent of the global user base.

Users of the new programme span 41 countries, including the United States, Canada, UK and Australia, where BNPP AM has offices. The asset manager is aiming to create language-specific versions for major European markets, including France and Germany.
