Investment management firm Brown Advisory has partnered with Thesis Unit Trust Management (Tutman) as ACD to launch the UK UCITS fund TM Brown Advisory Global Leaders Fund.
The fund will track Brown Advisory’s global leaders strategy, an Irish UCITS fund, which was launched in 2015 and has delivered annualized returns of 12.4 percent. This has outperformed its benchmark, the FTSE All-World Net Index, which has returned 9.3 percent over the same period.
Global leaders is an actively managed concentrated equity strategy that invests globally in approximately 30-40 companies which the fund managers believe are undervalued.
The strategy incorporates Brown Advisory’s ESG research with the portfolio managers specifically looking for companies with potential to generate revenue growth, cost improvement and/or enhanced franchise value derived from a company’s sustainability strategies.
Charlie van Straubenzee, head of European institutional sales at Brown Advisory, said: “Global leaders continues to be one of our most popular strategies, and the time was right to meet demand from our clients for a U.K. onshore vehicle.”
Mick Dillon, portfolio manager, Brown Advisory global leaders strategy, added: “With the ongoing turbulence in capital markets, we are thankful that our investment process allows us to focus on the long term and on understanding our companies’ business models. With that in mind, we look forward to serving our newest clients in the onshore U.K. Fund.”
This follows the recent launch of a US dollar denominated UCITS fund for its global sustainable total return bond strategy, which is SFDR Article 8 compliant. Also in the ESG space, Brown Advisory has recently created an ESG framework for analysing sovereign bonds.
