International investors impacted by currency moves in 2017, says Natixis IM

The depreciation in the US dollar in 2017 significantly impacted the performance of European investor portfolios and benefitted US and LatAm portfolios, according to Natixis Investment Managers\' Global Portfolio Barometer.

The Barometer showed that in 2017, investors with the highest allocations to equities did better than those with lower allocations. In a year where US equities were up over 20 percent in dollar terms, a European investor would have seen gains of just six percent due to the fall in the value of the dollar vs the euro.
