Discretionary fund manager Man GLG, a subsidiary of Man Group has hired Mike Corcell as a portfolio manager for its alternative equity business.
Mr Corcell joins from RWC Partners where he started a US equity team in 2009 and oversaw the US long/short equity strategy.
In his new role, Mr Corcell will focus on developing a US long/short equity strategy leveraging his experience managing these style of funds in his previous roles. His previous team from RWC Partners is joining him in due course.
Before his position at RWC, Mr Corcell worked for SAC Capital Advisors where he managed a US long/short equity fund and, before that, he worked at Threadneedle Investments where he launched and managed a US long/short strategy.
He has more than 20 years of experience as a portfolio manager, and 16 years of experience in US equity long/short investment.

Man GLG has $33.5 billion in assets under management, of which $15.1 billion is in alternatives.
