2019 SDLT receipts and transactions fall over 20 percent

Tax receipts for Q1 2019 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland fell by 26.2 percent on the previous quarter, according to London Central Portfolio (LCP) who did an analysis of HMRC’s Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) statistics.

 They now stand at £1,757 million a drop of £623 million since Q4 2018 whilst transactions fell 21.4 percent in Q1 2019 and now stand at 237,240.

Receipts from the Higher Rate for Additional Dwellings (HRAD), the additional three percent SDLT on buy-to-lets and second homes, fell by 24.6 percent to £372 million and HRAD transactions droppe...
