The Gulls’ Eggs Luncheon is an established event in the City’s social calendar, and has developed a loyal following since its inception 31 years ago. Guests were served gulls’ eggs as well as traditional accompaniments, including smoked salmon and a selection of cheeses.

Guests included author Joanna Trollope, OBE and The Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire Robert Voss, CBE who both recently became patrons of The Cure Parkinson’s Trust.

Rupert Phelps, chairman of the Gulls’ Eggs Committee commented: “We are very grateful for the wide and substantial support that this crucial event in aid of The Cure Parkinson’s Trust has received.

"It is wonderful to see both perennial supporters now joined by newer faces coming every year. In addition to really strong attendance, the sponsors and advertisers have come together to make a truly significant contribution to the critical research work of The Cure Parkinson’s Trust.”

The funds raised for CPT will be directed towards vital research into new treatments to slow, stop and reverse Parkinson’s disease.

Around 145,000 people in the UK are living with Parkinson’s, and it is predicted that one in 37 people will receive a diagnosis of Parkinson’s in their lifetime. CPT funds innovative research around the world which is dedicated to finding new treatments that can slow, stop or reverse Parkinson’s.

The 2020 Gulls’ Eggs Luncheon will be held on 12 May.
