35th Gulls’ Eggs Luncheon raises over £113k for Cure Parkinson's

News Team, 22/05/2023

Around 450 of the City’s wealth management professionals attended the annual Gulls’ Eggs Luncheon on Tuesday 16 May in support of the charity Cure Parkinson’s, raising over £113,000.

Held at the historic Merchant Taylors Hall on London’s Threadneedle Street, the long-standing networking event celebrated its 35th anniversary this year.

Guests enjoyed a standing luncheon at the venue, taking in the surroundings of the Livery Hall, Cloisters and Courtyard Garden where they were able to network with professionals from across the City.

During the luncheon a raffle was also held with a wonderful selection of prizes to be won. Due to Natural England and DEFRA not issuing pickers this year, gulls eggs were not served at the event.

The Gulls’ Eggs Luncheon has developed a loyal following within the City since its foundation 35 years ago and for the eighth year running, the event was held in support of the charity, Cure Parkinson’s.

Parkinson’s is now the fastest growing neurological condition in the world with over 10 million people affected globally, and the charity is working with urgency to find new or repurpose existing treatments seeking to slow, stop or reverse Parkinson’s.

Rupert Phelps, chairman of the Gulls’ Eggs Committee said: “We are determined to raise meaningful funds to support Cure Parkinson's critical work in funding research to find a cure for Parkinson’s. They are the only charity to solely do this in the UK.”

The event was once again supported by headline sponsor CRUX Asset Management.
