UK crypto investors' unpaid tax jumps 432% in a year, HMRC claims

New figures published this week have shown a 432 percent increase in the amount of tax HMRC believes wealthy individuals underpaid on their cryptocurrency investments, international law firm Pinsent Masons has discovered.

HMRC identified £2,280,000 in suspected underpaid tax relating to crypto assets in 2021-22, up from £428,000 the previous year.
