Bircham Dyson Bell makes partner promotions - Top 35 Under 35 among them

eprivateclient Top 25 Law Firm Bircham Dyson Bell (BDB) has made five promotions to the firm’s partnership – including a Top 35 Under 35 in both 2014 and 2015 - across four practice groups, effective from 1 June.  

The promotions mean that 29 percent of the firm’s partnership is now female – a year on year increasing trend.  Ninteen lawyers in total have been promoted across the firm.

Top 35 Under 35 alumni Matthew Braithwaite has been promoted to partner in BDB’s private wealth department whilst at the same time Sarah Clark and Ian Cameron (government and infrastructure), Sinéad Lester (litigation and dispute resolution) and Dennis Lee (corporate and commercial) have all been made partner too.

Mr Braithwaite has a broad range of private client experience and specialises in advising on international tax planning and offshore trusts and wealth holding structures.

Before joining the firm in 2013, Mr Braithwaite worked in the private client department at accountancy firm BDO where he gained expertise in tax planning both for UK domiciled and non-UK domiciled individuals.  Mr Braithwaite is also the author of BDB’s International Ownership of UK Property blog.

The partner promotions are supported by 14 wider senior associate and associate promotions across a range of departments, including: senior associate promotions for Alexander Hallatt, Georgie Herrick, Andrew McGlashan and Toby Richards-Carpenter.

There were associate promotions for: Owen Byrne, Natasha Davis, Marica Groundes-Peace, Youichi Iisaka, Andrew Mackie, Emily Murray, Philip Rowe, Jennifer Shorney, Anna Stanworth and Alice Unwin.
