10. (06/01/2022) In January, PwC UK announced the appointment of 22 new equity partners.
These promotions were in addition to PwC's usual partner promotion round in July, and the firm said they reflected "the strong growth of the firm driven by demand for services including transformation, deals, and ESG". Partners have been promoted across all of the firm’s business divisions.
9. (28/03/2022) In March, London family law firm Dawson Cornwell hired veteran divorce lawyer Simon Bruce as a partner.
Mr Bruce, a former president of the Family Law Commission of the Union Internationale des Avocats, joined Dawson Cornwell after a 38-year career at Farrer & Co.
Mr Bruce has acted in six Supreme Court cases, most notably for German heiress Katrin Radmacher in the landmark 2010 ruling that saw prenups and postnups made legally binding in England when they are fair, and for Yasmin Prest against her multimillionaire oil tycoon husband in the 2013 case that led the way for the English legal system on ‘piercing the corporate veil’.
8. (14/03/2022) In March, global fiduciary services provider Intertrust named Stuart Dowding as its head of private wealth, Guernsey.
Mr Dowding – who was named as an eprivateclient Top 35 Under 35 in 2010 – took over the role from Alison Parry who became global head of private wealth at Intertrust.
Mr Dowding has worked at Intertrust since 2021, having joined from IQ-EQ where he had worked since 2014 following its acquisition of Mercator Trust and was promoted from associate director to client services director at the start of 2015.
7. (28/04/2022) In April, Trident Trust Group appointed industry veteran Norson Harris to lead its offices in Jersey and Guernsey.
Based in Jersey, Mr Harris has more than 25 years’ experience in the global finance industry, including prior leadership roles with two international corporate and fiduciary service providers – TMF Group and Zedra.
In this new role he reports to Mark Le Tissier, regional managing director for Trident Trust’s European region.
6. (04/05/2022) In May, international law firm Charles Russell Speechlys promoted five individuals to partner in addition to one legal director and 18 senior associate promotions.
The partners - including one former eprivateclient Top 35 Under 35 - work within the firm’s real estate, financial services & funds, tax trusts & succession and real estate disputes teams.
