Comments from EU Commissioner Claude Juncker to MEPs this week stating his plans to target tax advisers are a sign that the EU intends to abolish legal privilege, an international tax lawyer has warned.
According to a Guardian report, Mr Juncker told MEPs that he intended to bring in draft legislation by the end of this month that would target tax planning lawyers and accountants that were a “real problem” and who “can’t simply hide behind lawyers’ confidentiality.”
