EXCLUSIVE: 2022 eprivateclient Top 35 Under 35 - The results

News Team, 05/09/2022

Today sees the publication of the 2022 eprivateclient Top 35 Under 35 - the definitive annual list of leading young private client practitioners in the UK and UK Crown Dependencies.

Congratulations to the 70 individuals - 35 men and 35 women - who have made it onto the list this year.

The Top 35 Under 35 is designed to identify, recognise, introduce and promote the rising stars of the private wealth advisory sector. The process began with an open call for nominations from the UK and the Crown Dependencies for young and upcoming stars within the private client advisory professions, be they lawyers, accountants, trustees or any other professional intermediary.

Following the end of the nomination period in mid-August, the nominations were collated with almost 500 nominations recorded for the 2022 Top 35 Under 35 with 170 individuals nominated (of which 88 were women and 82 men) from 79 different firms. A rigorous judging process then took place during which each nominee was judged on the strength of their nomination(s).

Other factors considered during the judging process - undertaken by senior staff at PAM Insight, publishers of eprivateclient - include who made the nomination, an individual’s achievements over the past 12 months and number of nominations they received.

Career progression, the quality and extensiveness of nominations and the seniority of who made the nomination and what that person said are crucial elements in determining who makes the list.

As with previous years, the majority (48 individuals) of the Top 35s are based in the UK mainland with a further seven working in Guernsey and 15 based in Jersey.

Within the UK, London dominates the lists with 37 Top 35 Under 35s working there, with a further two in Guildford and one representative each from Bristol, Cheltenham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Newcastle, Oxford, Reading, Southampton and Woking.

Across the various private client advisory disciplines, UK-based lawyers are the largest cohort with 32 of the 70, whilst a further 16 work in the fiduciary and trust arena and the same number within the tax advisory and accountancy sector. At the same time six Top 35 Under 35s work at offshore law firms.

One firm – Charles Russell Speechlys – is represented by four Top35 Under 35s, a further four firms (Deloitte, EY, Farrer & Co and KPMG) employ three Top 35 Under 35s each and there are a total of 53 firms to feature this year.
